Orange County Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers
Why Choose Rehab in Orange County, CA?
To the locals it’s obvious why people have traveled from all over the world to come attend a rehab program in Orange County, but to those actual travelers, Fountain Valley itself was once nothing but an unknown dot on an unexplored map. Here are some of the reasons that they chose to come.
Location
Fountain Valley is a relatively small city situated in a much larger and more populous county: Orange County, or OC. With over 3 million people living in the OC, which itself is all a part of the Los Angeles–Long Beach–Anaheim Metropolitan Statistical Area, you’ll realize how much hard work had to be put in for California Prime to earn the respect and appreciation that it has.
Fountain Valley might only have around 50,000 people, but it’s one of 34 incorporated cities in the County. It simply means that here, you’ll have a chance to actually go for a stroll without being rushed and pushed through crowds all the time. The same world-class experiences that you’d expect anywhere in the Metropolitan area is available to you here.
Commitment & Non-Judgment
Orange County, and the County of Orange Health Care Agency, are no strangers to addiction. The Agency is highly involved in helping to throttle the current opioid crisis, working in partnership with the Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board to unite people with different areas of experience regarding addiction.
One thing that this means is that Orange County is, by and large, more progressive than some areas in regards to addiction. Our programs are not inpatient, residential treatments, so you’ll be spending most of your time away from the facility. Whether you’re traveling here from somewhere else, moving here, or already live here, you’re going to be spending a good deal of time with the public.
Whether it’s the understanding of the public, the dedication of our local health teams to the defeat of the opioid crisis, the numerous programs, hotlines, and opportunities available for people affected by recovery, or the various pro-sobriety programs you’ll enjoy after your treatment… There are plenty of reasons to choose rehab in Orange County.
As far as pro-sobriety programs go, we also strive to offer the most helpful of these: quality aftercare. increase the long-term success rate of our clients by providing them with aftercare and Sober Living assistance following completion of our rehab program. Aftercare programs can vary depending on the individual, but all have one goal: helping our clients remain focused on their recovery even after they’ve departed from the facility.
Does Orange County, California Provide Treatment for Alcoholism?
Absolutely! Orange County’s Alcohol Drug Advisory Board (ADAB) wouldn’t have it any other way, and their continuing work with various aspects of mental health and recovery are helping to ensure that Orange County remains one of the most reliable and sought after counties for recovery treatment.
In addition to providing treatment, ADAB encourages people to make healthy choices with the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Services Strategic Plan. Together with Public Health Services’ Alcohol and Drug Education and Prevention Team (ADEPT), and Mental Health and Recovery Services’ AOD Prevention Services, entire governing bodies are dedicated to reducing addiction.
One of the best ways to do that is to arm the people who do come into rehab with the proper knowledge, so that they can go out in the world and be a well-educated, positive influence on younger drinkers. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs available, even when compared to illicit street drugs.
It’s significantly more important to attend a proper rehabilitation and detox program than most people think. Alcohol is widely available and legal, so most believe it’s relatively benign. It’s not. People who drink daily and have massive, dynamic social lives may not realize that they’re putting themselves at risk of becoming so physically dependent on alcohol that their nervous system could suffer from, basically, an electrical surge (i.e. a seizure) and kill them.
With the increasing number of deaths and injuries related to alcohol consumption we believe that it’s more important than ever to provide adequate treatment. An increase of 41% in alcohol-related deaths occurred between 2000 and 2012. ADAB and ADEPT are working to lower these statistics, hoping to see a decline by the time the next census is taken.
Orange County rehab treatment can help you arrange the best program and protocol to free yourself from alcohol addiction. An alcohol detox program will help to ensure that you can process the residual alcohol and the relevant withdrawal symptoms without sending your body into shock. Attempting to detox from alcohol at home can lead to seizures and even death.

What Other Sort of Addiction Treatment Options Exist Around Orange County, CA?
At our facility we primarily offer different degrees of outpatient rehab. There are, however, several tiers to choose from. Different patients will require different things from us. The programs include, outpatient (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and partial hospitalization programs (PHPs).
Outpatient
Outpatient rehab is a good first line of defense for anybody who is struggling with a mild to moderate addiction. If you’ve never had a problem with addiction before, or if you’ve never attended a rehab treatment, outpatient may be a good place to start.
Outpatient is much more affordable, and allows people more freedoms, but it can be more of a challenge. While outpatient rehab allows you to maintain your current work, school, or life schedule, you have to be confident in your determination and your ability to resist temptation while you’re away from the facility.
If you think that you can handle that, then great! Outpatient rehab will be more than enough for you.
Intensive Outpatient
IOP programs are more demanding than regular outpatient programs, often requiring up to 30 hours per week of commitment to counseling and coaching. Clients usually have to agree to participate in programs for at least a couple of months; they also tend to end up in an IOP coming from the top-down (as in, from an even more intensive program) rather than bottom-up.
No matter how you arrive you’re still able to maintain your regular schedule, though: our professionals can work around that. All of our programs are designed to be easy enough to integrate into a schedule as long as you can be flexible.
The programs at an IOP are less rigorous than those of a PHP and thus more affordable.
Partial Hospitalization Programs
PHP programs are designed to function as a sort of halfway point between inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab. Most patients that we have in PHP just completed an inpatient program and aren’t feeling comfortable enough to return to society.
Typically courses run throughout most of the day. Patients are still allowed to return home in the evenings and on weekends, but the more stringent demands and scheduling makes this option more effective for people with serious addictions. It’s about as close to an inpatient program as you can get without an actual inpatient program.
Other Resources
If you’re looking for some other resources in your fight against addiction, fear not. There are plenty of resources for anybody gearing towards recovery that you’ll be able to find in Orange County, CA. These include:
- Orange County Narcotics Anonymous Meetings
- Orange County Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings

An Average Day at Rehab in Orange County, CA
Still think rehab sounds like a great idea? Great. It helps to have some idea of what you’re about to walk into, though. Here’s a quick runthrough of an average day at rehab. All programs follow a similar style of day planning, the main difference being the number of hours required to commit.
Therapy
Therapy is the one thing you can reasonably expect from just about any rehab program. The goal of therapy is ultimately to help you know yourself better. There are many avenues that a therapist or an individual can take to reach this goal, though. There are hundreds of therapeutic modalities out there. We have employed dozens at our facility alone.
Throughout this process you will discover a lot about yourself. Most importantly, you’ll learn all about the different ways that your addiction is connected to your thoughts, beliefs, actions, and feelings.
By discovering these connections, you will uncover the opportunity to replace your current, unconscious reaction to them: seeking drugs or alcohol. Instead, you will learn healthier coping mechanisms. The mechanisms that you will discover will be unique to you, and our specially trained therapists will be with you 100% of the way helping you find out which ones work best.
Group Meetings & 12-Step Programs
Group meetings are regular occurrences at rehab centers. Most group meetings follow a similar format as the original Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings, although this is not always the case.
To truly adhere to the rules of Alcoholics Anonymous, one must swear aloud their fealty to the 12-steps. The world-famous 12 steps are a series of steps that encourages addicted individuals to recognize their powerlessness over their addiction and submit to something stronger than their addiction or personal willpower in order to empower them to overcome it.
As more and more people become interested in New Age Thought and individualism, in self-discovery and ego inflation, the idea of submitting oneself to an external or higher power runs contrary to many people’s operating systems. As such, not all group meetings follow 12-Step Programs. People who do not agree with the 12-Step Philosophy can find solace in groups like S.M.A.R.T. Recovery.
In either case, the purpose of a group meeting is to help connect individuals with other people who are on a similar path. You can learn a lot from others who have been in your shoes, and you may pick up some helpful anecdotal evidence that you might not otherwise learn.
Adventure (Therapy)
Although technically a form of therapy, our Adventure Therapy program deserves to be discussed separately due to its unique nature. Adventure Therapy involves taking patients out of their comfort zone and into the real world to participate in engaging, active, and otherwise risky activities with the proper supervision, guidance, and information.
Getting to go on adventures helps to get your adrenaline pumping, helps you form new memories, allows you to feel—something which is often impossible for months after recovery when people aren’t presented with the opportunity to do something exciting.
Adventure Therapy also allows you to build self-confidence as well as build trust in your peers and your supervisors.
Holistic Treatments
There are all sorts of holistic treatments and lifestyle changes that will be encouraged during your time here. Ultimately it is the changes that you make in your lifestyle that will prevent you from using drugs or alcohol again. Holistic treatments acknowledge that the mind, body and spirit are all equally important components of this unique being. By addressing them all and attempting to find unity between them, greater stability is achieved.
Some examples of holistic treatments employed during addiction rehab include:
- Yoga
- Massage
- Meditation
- Acupuncture
- Nutritional therapy
- Biofeedback
- Energy work

Where can I find detox near me?
There are thousands of addiction treatment centers in Orange County include detox as part of their treatment programs. After you complete detox, California Prime Recovery offers excellent partial hospitalization programs and intensive outpatient treatments in Fountain Valley, OC.
Which treatment centers offer a PHP program near me?
Partial Hospitalization is a form of outpatient treatment that involves partial day care at the facility while receiving treatment for drug, alcohol or mental illness. Not all addiction treatment centers offer PHP programs. It’s best to check before you go. California Prime offers PHP programs to treat substance abuse and addiction once a client completes their detox and inpatient treatment.
Are there IOP programs near me?
IOP refers to the Intensive Outpatient Program, a transitional phase of treatment offered to addiction patients who have already completed, or do not need detoxification and inpatient treatments. This allows more freedom to patients while also attending programming at the treatment center. Since this is a transition between Inpatient and Outpatient programs, not all treatment centers offer IOP programs. California Prime’s IOP program is intended to provide a step down rehab care but with well-monitored outpatient treatment.
